A study carried out by Jorge Bauzá, professor of chemical oceanography at the Department of Marine Sciences of the University of Puerto Rico; observed that the substances obtained from this tree contain medicinal properties.
The Red Mangrove medicinal tree with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial properties. It also has flavonoids, plant sterols (phytosterols), and tannins.
During this study, salicylates were also obtained, which are antipyretic (reduce fever); polysaccharides, which stimulate the immune system; and polyphenols, which help regenerate the skin.
Un Estudio realizado por Jorge Bauzá, profesor de oceanografía química del Departamento de Ciencias Marinas de la Universidad de Puerto Rico; observó que las sustancias obtenidas de este arbol contienen propiedades medicinales.
El Mangle Rojo, arbol medicinal con propiedades antiinflamatorios, antioxidantes, antivirales, antimicóticos y antibacteriales. Tambien tiene flavonoides, esteroles vegetales (fitoesteroles) y taninos.
Durante este estudio tambien se obtuvieron salicilatos, que son antipiréticos (reducen la fiebre); polisacáridos, que estimulan el sistema inmunológico; y polifenoles, que ayudan a regenerar la piel.
