The bark of the yoloxochitl tree, especially the seeds, leaves and flowers are boiled in water to be taken as a tea. For centuries yoloxochitl has been used to treat heart problems.

The heart is a fragile organ exposed to a myriad of diseases, one of the most common is endocarditis; an infection that attacks the valves and cavities. These infections are neither more nor less than bacteria and fungi that travel inside the body and spread through the bloodstream and adhere to damaged areas of the heart.

According to observations and research, Yoloxochitl helps to protect, heal and control the different affections of the heart and everything related to the cardiovascular nervous system. Due to the healing properties of this tree, its flower is known as the heart flower.

Other functions of Yoloxochitl, it has also been observed that it is antispasmodic, antiepileptic, antipyretic, diuretic, prevents paralysis and promotes fertility.
In different states and cultures of Mexico, it is very common for Yoloxóchitl to be combined with other related plant species to treat nerves and heart problems.

La Corteza del árbol yoloxochitl, especialmente las semillas, hojas y las flores se hierven en agua para tomarse como té. Durante siglos el yoloxochitl ha sido utilizado para tratar problemas del corazon.

El corazon es un organo fragil expuesto a una infinidad de enfermedades una de las mas comunes es el endocarditis; una infección  que ataca las válvulas y las cavidades.   Estas infecciones son ni mas ni menos que las bacterias y hongos que viajan al interior del cuerpo y se propagan a través del torrente sanguíneo y se adhieren a zonas dañadas del corazón. 

De acuerdo a observciones e investigaciones, el Yoloxochitl ayuda a proteger, curar y controlar los diferentes affeciones del corazon y todo lo relacionado con el sistemas nervioso cardiovascular.  Debido a las propiedade curativas de este arbol a su flor se le conoce como flor del corazón 

Otras funciones del Yoloxochitl, también se  ha observado que es antiespasmódico, antiepiléptico, antipirético, diurético, evita la parálisis y promueve la fertilidad. 
En diferentes estados y culturas de México es muy frecuente que el Yoloxóchitl se combina con otra especies de plantas  relacionados para tratar los nervios y los problemas cardíacos.
