Pericon, Te de pericón, Texas Tarragon Tagetes lucida, Sweet Mace, Sweetscented marigold yerbaniz, Mexican Tarragon

Tagetes Lucida, or Mexican tarragon and Texas tarragon is native to the hillsides and forests of Mexico and South America. Tolerates most types of soil, including clay; however, it cannot grow in full shade and is not particularly cold-hardy.

The leaves and the whole plant are digestive, diuretic, febrifuge, hypotensive, narcotic, sedative and stimulating.

The use of the plant depresses the central nervous system, while it is also said to be anaesthetic and hallucinogenic.

It is used internally in the treatment of diarrhoea, nausea, indigestion, colic, hiccups, malaria, and febrile illnesses. Externally, it is used to treat scorpion bites and remove ticks. The leaves can be collected and used as needed.

Tagetes lucida, o estragón mexicano y estragón de Texas es originario de las laderas y bosques de México y América del Sur. Tolera la mayoría de los tipos de suelo, incluida la arcilla; sin embargo, no puede crecer a plena sombra y no es particularmente resistente al frío.

Las hojas y toda la planta son digestivas, diuréticas, febrífugas, hipotensivas, narcóticas, sedantes y estimulantes.
